MORE ABOUT QUICK START

MakerGear Quick start app - Getting started and bed leveling / calibration

WHAT IS QUICK START?

Quick Start is a responsive application designed help you get started with your first 3D print in three simple steps:

1 - Connect to your M2

2 - Quick Check

3 - Load filament

Quick Start can also used to  calibrate your MakerGear 3D printer quickly and more reliably.

HOW IT WORKS

Register and Connect

Before connecting your printer using Quick Start, you'll be required to provide your email address, printer serial number, as well as an activation key in order to  complete the product registration process. After completing product registration, Quick Start provides step-by-step instructions to ensure a professionally-calibrated build platform in just minutes.

* Your serial number is located on a sticker on the back of your printer; your activation key can be found in your email inbox under the subject line "MakerGear Product Registration"

Begin Quick Check

During this step, Quick Start checks three different points on your bed and asks you to verify your bed's calibration using three simple "Yes" or "No" prompts. If your bed has remained factory-leveled throughout shipping, you'll proceed to the "Load Filament" step. If your MakerGear's calibration has been compromised during shipping, Quick Start will detect this issue and guide you through the bed calibration process using simple, step-by-step commands.

Load filament

During this step, you'll be prompted to heat your extruder and build platform. Once your extruder has reached the adequate temperature (PLA: 220 °C; ABS: 245 °C), follow Quick Start's instructions to load and extrude filament. After successfully extruding filament, you're ready to print!
