Variety packs are a quick and easy way to get a wide variety of materials into your toolkit. Whether you are teaching 1st grade or a working physicist, we are here to help you find and acquire the materials you need. Domestic and exotic wood; clear or colored acrylic sheet; wool, cotton, polyester, nylon, and blended fabrics; assorted paper; foam; leather; Corian and other solid surface materials; granite veneer so thin it can be cut with scissors; marble; and many, many more materials.
MakerGear stocks approximately one-hundred varieties of domestic and exotic wood veneers - from cherry and maple to jatoba, sapelle, makore, mahagony, kingwood, and zebrawood, to name a few. Wood veneers vary in thickness but are around 1/32" thick. This means that you can cut veneer with scissors and we can ship a lot of veneer in a small box at a reasonable price (more on shipping below). If you are using a laser cutter, veneer is amazing to work with. You can cut the most intricate and beautiful patterns. If you are a school teacher, wood veneer can be cut with scissors. What a great way to study trees - get some Oak, Mahogany or maybe bubinga for your class. We also have domestic and exotic thin wood (1/8" and 1/4"), the perfect thickness for laser cutting or crafting. Also, if you like wood, you'll love our 4" x 6" x 1/8" wood sampler kits.
